How Do I Make Time To Exercise?

A more common excuse than this does not exist. Anytime you ask someone who has stopped going to the gym or stopped exercising why they stopped, there’s a very high chance they’ll say that they didn’t have the time.

It’s either too much work or they have kids to look after or some crisis or another came up. Time is always to blame. Never them. Yet, every one of us has 24 hours in a day. It doesn’t matter how rich or poor you are. Everyone gets 24 hours.

It’s what you do with this time that matters. If you want to lose weight, you need to exercise and eat right. Even eating right takes time. You may need to plan your meals or prepare your meals for the week at one go. Whatever the case, you will have to spend some time on this weight loss goal.

It is understandable if you are busy at work or you have children who take up every minute of your time. There are a few tips below that will help you squeeze in some exercise despite your hectic schedule.

All you need is about 15 to 30 minutes a day. If you’re hard pressed for time, even 10 minutes can make a huge difference. If you’re at work, you probably have an hour break for lunch. All you need to do is run 1.5 miles or 2.4km. Ideally, if you are really fit, you can do it in 9 minutes plus or even lower.

Would you believe that this high intensity run will burn calories in your body for hours after that? It does. You will be a fat burning machine. All it takes is about 10 to 15 minutes. Keep your running attire at the office. 15 minutes later, have a shower, eat and get back to work out.

Do this 4 times a week and you have squeezed in an hour of exercise. Some exercise is better than no exercise. Don’t feel like running? No problem. Do a quick circuit of squats, burpees and mountain climbers. 10 reps per set. 3 sets of each. You may be surprised how it can get your blood pumping and raise your heart rate.

These little spurts of exercise will raise your metabolic rate and keep your body in fat burning mode. Even stay at home moms looking after children can squeeze in 15 minutes of exercise. Do the above mentioned circuit. You do not even have to take your eyes off your child.

If you find yourself wasting time watching TV or surfing on Facebook or all the other little time wasting activities that people are so prone to doing, cut them out and see how much more time you have. Cutting out an hour of reality TV will mean 60 precious minutes that you can use to burn your fat.

At the end of the day, it all depends on how bad you want it. We all have the same amount of time each day. Make the best of it. Research online for quick 10 or 15 minute workouts and squeeze them in whenever you can. You’ll be surprised at how much time you have if you truly look for opportunities to exercise.
